Louis Vuitton Maisons

In the world of fashion one cannot forget that which inspires it, or that which comes together because of it.  We Dandi’s would have nothing to wear but from our own devices if it weren’t for the inspired designers of the world.  ‘Tis the season to be thankful and aware of those things in our lives that bring us more life and creative delight.  I am inspired by many people, events and things and architecture and interior design are right up there so I had to show you these magnificent maisons that Louis Vuitton is creating all over the world.  Truly the ultimate in luxury.

Louis Vuitton has created 13 grand maisons to go with it’s collection of 460 stores worldwide and Sydney will be welcoming it’s own with a grand opening Dec 3rd.

These unique stores on the grandest scale are as much about the brand the architecture and they are located in fabulous cities from Singapore to Paris (of course), to Milan (of course twice).

At the Australian store they have even done the homework on how Dandi’s shop (on the weekends) and what they shop for the most (shoes) so they put the men’s department on the first floor, hoping to inspire our sweeties to shop for us during the week, and have designed 10 different chair designs for optimal moments of trying on footwear, making sure to take in consideration things like the tilt of the chair to get your shoe on and off, to the height of the chair for different size Dandis.  Now that’s service.

The Dandi Clutch

What do you mean you don’t have your new clutch for the Fall season!?!  And you call yourself a Dandi!  Just kidding :) .   But really clutches have come into menswear style in a big way and though they fall dangerously close to making us look more on the feminine side of ourselves when we carry them. However if trends are your thing then butch it up a little and take advantage of some truly cute designs.

m0851

Clutches are being made by many of the top designers and range in price from $130 like the m0851 bag to…

$8,300 like this lovely Bottega Veneta number.  Don’t think it has to look conventional either.  My sweetheart gave me a great, innovative one that is recycled out of old basketballs.  If you don’t know why you would need one then it’s high time you realized that stuffing wallets, phones, keys and your partner’s lip gloss in your pockets ruins your lines.

PreppyBaba’s Clutch

I put all those things and my business cards in mine to the point where, more and more, I hate having to put things in my pockets.  Just remember not to forget it.  I have been so used to always having my things on me that the tendency is to leave it behind.  I I suggest always putting your car keys in whatever clutch you carry and that way you can’t leave without it.

Boots

Fall means boots and this season is no different.  Here are a few of the wonderful designs that are available to compliment your wardrobe with an elegant foundation.

Top to bottom:

Ralph Lauren

Louis Vuitton

Salvatore Ferragamo

Kenneth Cole

Always have a boot that you can tuck your pants into.  It makes for very sexy lines (in how it looks and in the flattering comments).

For a more casual style broken-in Chuka boots are trending for the season.

Beach Season

In keeping with the holiday weekend I thought I would focus a little on two subjects.  The beach and the weekend.  When you and your  love decide to get away for a quick romantic moment on the beach the one thing that keeps it sexy is the spontaneity of it.  Packing too much stuff can be annoying when you lug everything there and realize you’ve only worn four things.

Below are nine basic items that you can pack  in a small Duffle bag or wear on the plane; along with a long pair of linen pants, 2 more dress shirts, a beach t-shirt, flip-flops, sunglasses, sunscreen, a beach top of your choosing, toiletries and sexy boxers for the romantic time off the beach you’ll be set.

There are two outerwear jacket choices here and I’d pick either based on the climate.  If you want to dress up a bit for a nice lunch the pin-striped shirt can also be put with the board shorts and the shoes, add the ‘kerchief around your neck to change it up for the next day.  Of course wear your waterproof watch and be sure your beach bag is sleek, masculine and not from ten years ago – full of sand and old sunscreen.

Protect your eyes when swimming with contemporary designer goggles to lessen the ‘oh so unattractive’ stoner red-eye that comes from swimming in the ocean.  If you’ll spend just a little extra time and money you won’t look like you’re about to take a swim at the Y.
